Are you crazy? Look for an internship now?

Are you in your 2nd or 3rd year of college? If so, then read up. Think about internships now and what you would like to be doing next summer. I know, it seems like I’m crazy!  Look at internship a year before? YES! Many companies start hiring interns in October for the following year. If you wait until January, you may miss the mark with your favorite companies.  It’s still summer, school hasn’t started yet.  YOU have time, so just do it!  Once school starts, you will be busy with friends, grades, etc…  Now is the best time to start researching.

Tips:

• Check out when job fairs are at your school and register!

• Make an appointment with your career counselor.
• Ask counselors, family, friends, companies when they start hiring for internships.

• Look on company websites to see what they are offering.  Go to Careers, then usually there is an internship tab.

• Talk to your friends and family-They WANT to help you but may not know you want help.

• Check out LinkedIn’s job tab and other social media sites
