We are thrilled to announce that our very own, Lisa VanWyk, has been accepted to attend the Emerging Leaders Program offered by the US Small Business Administration. It is an intensive executive-level series for high-potential small businesses in America’s underserved cities. This opportunity will give Step Up Recruiting the tools to help more people in the community searching for jobs, while giving us the edge with employers.
Lisa founded Step Up Recruiting with the belief in making the best match the first time for both her clients and associates. She has built the company on high standards of excellence, which is why she is so well-deserving of the Emerging Leaders Program. Companies from various industries have been chosen to participate in the program. Lisa will have the opportunity to network and learn with a diverse group of leaders.
The program provides participants with research-based customized executive training and mentoring. It takes place over a 7-month period and enables participants to develop connections with their peers and community leaders.
Government statistics confirm that underserved small businesses are the engines of sustained economic growth and job creation. Small businesses in underserved cities added close to three times as many jobs to their local economies as large companies over the last decade.
